What the project is about
The "Active Cities – Green Cities" project aims to promote citizen engagement, environmental sustainability, and democratic governance across Europe and empower women, young citizens, and municipal policymakers to actively participate in shaping environmental policies and practices in their local communities.
Main Aims

Increase the engagement of EU citizens, especially women and young people, in decision-making processes, boosting their engagement in society and active involvement in the democratic life of the EU.

Bring citizens together to discuss actions on climate, environment, energy, solidarity, and migration and take action against climate change, ensuring a fair green transition,

Share best practices of cooperation among public authorities, the private sector, and NGOs supporting local/regional climate mitigation.

Restore faith in local authorities to ensure a fair green transition

Expand the network of cooperating partners and stimulate long-term debates about the future of European integration.
Target audience
For whom is the project relevant
The target audiences of the project are:
Women: The project will provide support and assistance to women in fostering their active citizenship and engagement in environmental initiatives.
Young citizens: The project will support and assist young citizens in becoming actively engaged in environmental issues and civic participation.
Municipal policymakers and officials: The project will also support and assist municipal policymakers and officials in developing and implementing effective strategies for citizen engagement and sustainable development.
